SAMVIDENT — Engineering
Engineering · Four disciplines

Four disciplines. One reading.

Redline, Agentic, Playbook and Context Engineering work on the same clause at the same moment. Context identifies it. Agents examine it. The playbook judges it. The redline explains it.

01 / 04 · Redline Engineering

A redline is a mark. Ours is a reason.

A redline should let the reviewer follow what changed and why. Redline Engineering keeps the original wording, the proposed amendment and its rationale together, so the reasoning sits beside the mark.

RE · 01 · THE DISCIPLINEPRESERVE · PROPOSE · REASON

The reasoning belongs beside the redline.

a.Preserve the original. The source wording is never overwritten. The reviewer sees exactly what was there.
b.Propose the amendment. The change is drafted against the whole allocation, not the sentence alone.
c.Attach the reason. Why this wording, what it protects, and what it depends on: written into the margin.
RE · 02 · A REDLINE RECORDCLAUSE 11.2

Source language. Reasoned amendment.

REDLINE RECORD · 11.2 · EXCLUSIONS FROM THE CAPILLUSTRATIVE
ISSUEData loss moved outside the general cap.
ORIGINALThe cap in clause 11.1 does not apply to death, personal injury or fraud.
PROPOSEDData loss subject to a separate cap, set by reference to the insurance limit.
REASONThe revision leaves data claims uncapped when read with clause 14. A separate cap keeps exposure insurable.
DECISIONAwaiting the responsible partner.

Illustrative. The appropriate wording depends on the complete allocation of risk.

RE · 03 · HOW IT WORKSISSUE → DECISION

Make the reason visible.

  1. 1Identify the issue.Name what moved and what it changes.
  2. 2Keep the source. The original wording stays on the page.
  3. 3Draft with reasons. Each amendment carries its rationale.
  4. 4Record the decision.Who decided, on what basis, in which version.
02 / 04 · Agentic Engineering

Hundreds of agents. Each finding, traceable.

Upload once and every clause gets its own agents. Each examines a defined question, retrieves the provisions it needs and records the basis of its proposal, so the chain of work can be reviewed end to end.

AG · 01 · THE DESKBOUNDED · VISIBLE · EVIDENCED

You upload. Everything else happens.

a.A bounded task. Each agent owns one defined question about one clause, and nothing outside it.
b.A visible handoff. When work passes between agents, it carries the source and the unresolved issues with it.
c.A verdict with evidence.Every flag carries the clause, the bond it breaks and an evidence id you can audit.
AG · 02 · THE CHAIN OF WORKONE CLAUSE, TRACED

No invisible leap from phrase to position.

AGENT LOG · MSA_COUNTERPARTY_V2.DOCX · 11.2ILLUSTRATIVE
AGENT · CAPExamines 11.2. Retrieves 11.1, clause 14 and the insurance schedule.
HANDOFF → DATACarries the source text and one open issue: how “data loss” is defined.
AGENT · DATAResolves the definition from clause 1. Confirms data claims sit outside the cap.
VERDICTUncapped exposure on data claims. Evidence attached for review.
IN WORDTracked change proposed. Reason in the margin. Awaiting counsel.

Illustrative log. Agent names and steps are simplified for this page.

AG · 03 · HOW IT WORKSUPLOAD → WORD

Agentic, not manual.

  1. 1Upload once. The agreement is masked before any agent reads it.
  2. 2Agents wake per clause. Each takes a bounded question and the context it needs.
  3. 3Handoffs carry the source.Nothing passes between agents without its evidence.
  4. 4It ends in Word.Tracked changes on, reasons in the margin, your decision.
03 / 04 · Playbook Engineering

Playbooks that run.

Your playbook lives in a PDF, or in someone’s head. Playbook Engineering turns each approved position into a skill the agents carry onto every page, with its conditions, fallback and owner attached.

PB · 01 · THE SKILL UNIVERSEPOSITION · CONDITION · OWNER

A position needs its context.

a.Conditions.The same clause may need a different response for a different party or transaction. The conditions travel with the position.
b.Fallback and escalation. What can be conceded, what cannot, and who decides when the line is reached.
c.Versions.Every position is versioned, so the next reviewer knows which rule applied and why.
PB · 02 · A PLAYBOOK ENTRYAS A RUNNING SKILL

Written once. Applied on every page.

PLAYBOOK · LIMITATION OF LIABILITY · CARVE-OUTSILLUSTRATIVE
STANDARDDeath, personal injury and fraud sit outside the cap. Nothing else.
CONDITIONFor data-heavy services, a separate data cap is acceptable.
FALLBACKData cap set by reference to the insurance limit.
ESCALATIONAnything uncapped goes to the head of commercial legal.
VERSIONCurrent version, with the matter instructions attached.

Illustrative entry. Your positions, your owners, your versions.

PB · 03 · HOW IT WORKSWRITE → RUN → LEARN

Your positions, on every page.

  1. 1Write it once.Positions, conditions and fallbacks, in plain language.
  2. 2It runs everywhere.Every agent checks every clause against it.
  3. 3Exceptions escalate.Anything past the line goes to its named owner.
  4. 4It improves.Decisions feed the next version of the playbook.
04 / 04 · Context Engineering

Context is king.

A contract is data. Read alone, a clause is a string of words. Context Engineering gives every party, term and reference an identity, binds it to its source, and recognises what each clause intends, before a single question is asked.

CE · 01 · CONTEXT IS KINGONE CLAUSE · EIGHT READINGS

Same words. Different deal.

Change who you are, which law governs, whether a carve-out exists. The sentence never moves. Its meaning does.

MSA · CLAUSE 14.2 · EXCLUSIONSILLUSTRATIVE

Neither party shall be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit.

WITHOUT CONTEXT
